David is an experienced structural geologist and expert in tectonics, holding degrees in structural geology and stratigraphy. He has a proven track record as a leader in international roles, working across various basin types and scales, ranging from basin screening to prospect evaluation.

David is known for his expertise in leading and contributing to integrated petroleum systems assessments, specifically focusing on basin evaluation and play analysis to meet organizational objectives. With over 23years of global exploration and new ventures experience at ExxonMobil, Maersk, BHP, and Woodside Energy, David excels at integrating geological and geophysical interpretations across different scales—from mega-regional multi-basin characterization to prospect definition. His expertise encompasses the application of principles related to plate tectonics, structural geology, salt tectonics, play evaluation, and play-prospect integration.

David has worked in numerous prolific petroleum provinces and frontier basins, including the South Atlantic, Equatorial Atlantic, Northwest Africa, Gulf of Mexico, Eastern Caribbean, North Sea/Shetlands, North German Basin, Red Sea, and Eastern Mediterranean. His diverse experience across various petroleum systems allows him to identify similarities and differences among them, enabling him to identify appropriate analogs and assumptions when exploring new basins or revisiting concepts in mature basins.
